She has represented global insurance and reinsurance companies in major contract and other disputes, as well as Fortune 500 and startup companies in complex business disputes across an array of industries.
Whitney has represented clients in state and federal court and in arbitration, including second-chairing multimillion-dollar arbitrations and jury trials. She is fluent in all stages of litigation, including discovery, motion practice, trials and appeals. Whitney is a proven legal adviser to her clients, providing not only strategic litigation advice but also helping guide business strategy beyond litigation.
Prior to joining Stradley Ronon, Whitney was special counsel at an Am Law 100 firm, and before that an associate at an Am Law 40 firm.
Featured Representative Matters
Represented insurers and reinsurers in a variety of reinsurance disputes involving long-tail environmental claims and large-scale accidents or disasters.
Secured a decisive arbitration victory for a reinsurer against various allegations, including bad faith, asserted by an insurance agency in a case involving catastrophic personal injuries.
Secured a complete defense jury verdict in a federal civil jury trial in the U.S. District Court for the Western District of Tennessee on behalf of a former middle school security officer in a case alleging various state law torts and violations of 42 U.S.C. Section 1983 under the Fourth and Fourteenth amendments.
Successfully defeated numerous applications for injunctive relief before trial and appellate courts.
