WASHINGTON – Stradley Ronon managing counsel Katrina Berishaj presented at the 2025 National Society of Compliance Professionals (NSCP) National Conference on October 26-29 in Orlando, Florida. Katrina participated on the panel, “Recommending Alternative or Complex Products,” which explored key compliance considerations for broker-dealers and investment advisers navigating alternative and complex products.

Katrina’s session discussed the components of a compliance program for alternative and complex products and illustrated various product types, including bitcoin exchange-traded funds (ETFs), annuities and non-traded real estate investment trusts (REITs), private securities, and asset-backed securities. It also addressed product due diligence, conflicts of interest and disclosures, as well as sales practices.

As chair of Stradley Ronon’s ERISA and employee benefits practice, Katrina focuses on advising financial services clients on issues arising under the fiduciary and prohibited transaction rules of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) and the Internal Revenue Code with respect to financial products, services and transactions. Katrina also counsels banks, investment adviser firms and broker-dealer firms on ERISA compliance for ERISA plan separately-managed accounts, collective investment funds, private funds and other arrangements.
