WASHINGTON — Stradley Ronon partner Jan Folena, co-chair of the securities and regulatory enforcement practice, served as a panelist for the session “Regulation by Enforcement Is Over – Now What?” at the 2026 FIA Law & Compliance Conference.
Hosted April 15–17 in Washington, D.C., the event brought together legal and compliance professionals in the cleared derivatives industry to examine legal, regulatory and enforcement developments impacting businesses.
Jan’s session explored how the Commodity Futures Trading Commission and U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission have pivoted away from registration and other so-called technical violations, particularly in the digital assets space. It also covered how agencies have revamped their enforcement guidelines and practices to promote fairness and transparency, with panelists examining these developments for both the immediate and long-term impact.
Jan focuses her practice on assisting firms and individuals in navigating internal investigations, regulatory enforcement matters, commercial disputes and, when necessary, arbitration, mediation and trial. She also represents clients in congressional inquiries, before state regulators and in third-party litigation.
