Jeffrey Grossman focuses his practice on complex litigation and regulatory matters, with a particular emphasis on the construction, insurance and reinsurance, and cybersecurity and data privacy sectors. With more than 25 years of experience handling sophisticated, high-stakes litigation, clients rely on Jeff for his courtroom prowess and advocacy. Jeff routinely handles cases in federal and state courts and before arbitral and regulatory tribunals. His clients include businesses, non-profits and individuals in disputes with other private parties, industry groups, and/or governmental agencies.
In addition to dispute resolution, Jeff regularly advises clients on business, risk management and contractual matters, as well as regulatory compliance, across multiple sectors including construction, cybersecurity and data privacy, real estate and insurance. As the former co-chair of the firm’s litigation practice, Jeff applied his business acumen to overseeing, managing and implementing numerous strategic initiatives within Stradley Ronon’s multidisciplinary, 90-lawyer litigation team, spanning the firm’s nine offices.
Across the construction industry, Jeff advises real estate owners, developers, construction companies, fabricators, manufacturers, suppliers, lenders, brokers and sureties in complex construction claims involving payment and fee disputes, default terminations, defective building products, defective workmanship, delayed performance, design errors or omissions, liquidated damages, lost productivity, lost profits, unforeseen site conditions, other damage recoveries, subrogation, complex bond form coverage disputes and surety/principal indemnity issues.
On behalf of insurers, reinsurers and insurance intermediaries, as well as receivers and creditors, Jeff handles complex matters involving insurance coverage, bad faith, underwriting, claims handling, risk mitigation, insolvency and asset recovery and related regulatory and compliance issues involving a broad spectrum of insurance products and transactions. He advises clients on reinsurance arrangements and collateral agreements, as well as vendor agreements and risk-sharing structures. He also represents regional, national and international banks and their subsidiaries, and other commercial lenders, in various disputes and compliance matters, including contract disputes and claims alleging tortious interference with contract, conspiracy and RICO violations.
Jeff also provides strategic counsel to clients in a wide range of cybersecurity and data privacy matters, including internal policies and procedures, indemnity and privacy provisions in vendor agreements, Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA)-protected information, data breach response and compliance with notification statutes. Jeff also regularly defends companies in single-plaintiff and class action data breach and privacy litigation.
