As part of the firm’s partnership with global legal intelligence pioneer vLex, Stradley Ronon held its first-ever hackathon, hosted live on July 9.
The event brought together the firm’s first cohort participating in the Stradley Labs Legal Gen AI Drivers Certification program — a robust professional development initiative modeling generative artificial intelligence (gen AI) best practices and use cases for vLex’s Vincent AI and public tools, led by Sarah Hirebet, the firm’s director of knowledge management.
During the hackathon, 30 partners, associates and business professionals were divided into six teams who participated in a “Shark Tank”-style competition to present the legal use case most likely to be given the green light by a client. Each team broke down a complex legal workflow, identified where gen AI can meaningfully add value, strategically used Vincent AI and publicly available tools, and pitched that solution persuasively in adherence to applicable ethical guidelines to a client audience. The judging panel included Sarah and vLex team members Anusia Gillespie and Kelsy Cocozzo.
Congratulations to the winning team — structured finance and securitization partner Paul Cuccurullo, corporate associate Avery Marz, investment management associate Geena Marzouca and tax associate Linsay Sobers — and thank you to all who participated!
