WASHINGTON — Stradley Ronon partner Lisa Jacobs recently spoke on two panels at the LLC Institute 2026, hosted by the American Bar Association (ABA) Business Law Section’s Committee on LLCs, Partnerships and Unincorporated Entities. Stradley Ronon served as a sponsor for the event, which took place on October 15-16 at the George Washington University Law School in Washington, D.C.
Lisa’s first panel, “The Business-Friendly Arms Race in State Business Entities Laws Contrasted with Uniform Laws,” covered the significant changes that have been made in non-Uniform Act states. Lisa’s second panel, “Special Litigation Committees – Cutting-Edge Issues and Considerations,” discussed considerations involving special litigation committees (SLCs), including forming the SLC and appointing members, direct/derivative claims and their complications, and documenting the process and decision-making.
During the event, Lisa was also formally recognized with the Martin I. Lubaroff Award, which honors lawyers who have demonstrated exceptional leadership, scholarship and service in business entity law.
For more than four decades, Lisa has represented businesses and institutions on U.S. and global transactional matters. She advises both private and public companies in a wide variety of industries on matters related to mergers and acquisitions, corporate finance, institutional and private equity financings, and organizational structuring and governance issues. She also serves as president of the Uniform Law Commission (ULC), which provides states with nonpartisan legislation that clarifies critical areas of state statutory law.
