Mentorship

At Stradley Ronon, we know that committing to the success and professional development of all lawyers empowers our people and future generations of leaders. We believe a willingness to impart knowledge and experience, promotion of accessible and inclusive growth opportunities, and provision of well-rounded guidance and support leads to a stronger, more authentic firm culture.
Lawyer Mentoring Program
Our mentoring program is designed to provide structure, consistency and enhanced support as we continue the investment in professional growth and development. The program affords an opportunity for our lawyers to benefit from an ongoing mentor-mentee relationship that fosters both personal and professional growth. Our mentors share firm values, facilitate the opportunity to enhance and build internal and external networks, and provide resources that will position mentees for success.
Mentors
From their first day, our non-partner lawyers are assigned a mentor to facilitate integration. Mentors serve as a guide for strategic career growth and development, including overseeing the initial assignment of matters, providing consistent and actionable feedback, and promoting ongoing and continuous career development.
Peer Mentors
Serving as role models, peer mentors help new hires navigate the firm. They assist with building an internal network, maintain open lines of communication, foster learning environments, and demonstrate and model firm values. The peer mentor is an additional mentor relationship for new lawyers and gives our lawyers a day-to-day resource near their level of experience.
Career Champions
Senior-level associates and managing counsel are assigned Career Champions, or partners who provide ongoing leadership coaching and career growth guidance, including collecting and delivering frequent, transparent and action-oriented advice and feedback. Career Champions serve as advocates for their assignees, working together to discuss and determine meaningful career goals as well as implementing action plans to achieve them.
Excellence in Mentorship Awards
Our Excellence in Mentorship Awards — given annually to one lawyer and one business professional — honor those who have demonstrated a sustained commitment to fostering personal and professional growth within the firm. Recipients are nominated by firm members and selected by the firm’s talent development and mentorship committee.
