PHILADELPHIA — Stradley Ronon Director of Knowledge and Innovation Sarah Hirebet spoke at Inside Practice’s AI x KM Conference on April 29 in New York. The program brought together senior knowledge-management leaders, innovation and technology executives, partners and operational decision-makers to explore how law firms are rebuilding knowledge as a strategic asset.
Sarah co-presented with Katya Linossi, co-founder and chief executive officer of Altas by ClearPeople, to outline a vision for what law firms and corporate legal departments should hold top-of-mind as they build out knowledge strategies in the age of AI. Recognizing that the modern knowledge lifecycle can be powerfully augmented by generative AI tools, Sarah and Katya identified three fundamental truths about AI: (1) it does not resolve inconsistencies, (2) it cannot reliably determine what content means and to whom it matters and (3) it does not know what content is best or current.
Taken together, these truths mean that AI must be grounded in human judgement to deliver consistency, context and authority that is necessary for productive and precise output. Sarah and Katya then explored the key ingredients for building knowledge collections that are both dynamic and well-governed. They concluded the session with some examples from Stradley Ronon’s partnership with ClearPeople, a legal tech vendor focused on building the knowledge layers that fuel gen AI enablement.
A strategic knowledge solutions architect, Sarah empowers practice innovation by leveraging people, process, data and technology. Creator of Stradley Ronon’s knowledge program, Sarah is a recognized leader in gen AI learning and adoption in legal practice. She designed the award-winning Stradley Labs Legal Gen AI Drivers Certification program and was named 2025 ILTA Innovative Leader of the Year and a vLex/Fastcase 50 honoree.
