Stradley Ronon Partner Appointed Vice Chair of the American Bar Association Tax Section’s Committee on Investment Management

PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon Partner Christopher C. Scarpa has been elected to a two-year term to serve as vice chair of the American Bar Association Tax Section’s Committee on Investment Management. The Committee on Investment Management has responsibilities for monitoring, reporting and commenting on developments as they affect the federal and state taxation of regulated investment companies, hedge funds, private equity funds and tiered investment structures; taxation of the investments held by these entities; and taxation of the investors in these structures.

Scarpa focuses his practice on the taxation of pooled investment vehicles, including mutual funds, exchange-traded funds, hedge funds, real estate mortgage investment conduits and other investment-related vehicles. He frequently advises investment companies on compliance with the requirements under Subchapter M of the Internal Revenue Code.
