Intellectual Property Litigation

Overview

Not only is intellectual property (IP) among a company’s most valuable assets, it is often critical to its success. Every business reliant on creativity and innovation must make asserting and defending IP interests part of its growth and development strategy. It is therefore imperative to have a team of skilled litigators that understands the particular industry, can readily comprehend the innovation and its underlying science, and can litigate successfully when a company’s IP interests are threatened.

Stradley Ronon’s IP litigation group offers the requisite combination of skill and experience.

Members of our IP team are admitted to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office bar, and one of our attorneys served as a judicial clerk to the Hon. Helen W. Nies, the former Chief Judge of the Federal Circuit. Our attorneys have served as lead counsel or co-counsel in numerous cases, and team lawyers have been recognized as Best Lawyers in Intellectual Property and as the Intellectual Property “Lawyer of the Year” in the Philadelphia area, an honor only one lawyer in each specialty in each community receives. The Legal Intelligencer recognized Stradley Ronon’s litigation department as one of the top in Pennsylvania, noting that the firm is able to “successfully litigate cases across the country.” Furthermore, Stradley Ronon maintains an office in Wilmington, Delaware, the location of the U.S. District Court for the District of Delaware, a court with a long tradition as a reliable venue for IP litigation.

We have represented clients in major patent, trademark and copyright infringement and trade secret misappropriation cases. Well known for our commitment to and facility with alternative dispute resolution techniques, we are frequently called on to mediate or arbitrate some of the largest IP litigation matters in the nation.
