PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon is pleased to announce it has joined members of the legal and corporate community in furthering its commitment to support the inclusion of diverse mediators and arbitrators through the signing of the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution’s (CPR) Diversity Commitment. Law firm signatories to the pledge agree to discuss the value of diversity and inclusion among those who mediate and arbitrate client disputes.

“The Diversity Commitment is an important step towards building greater diversity, equity and inclusion in the field of dispute prevention and resolution, and the firm is proud to support and amplify this initiative,” said Stradley Ronon’s Chief Diversity Officer Brian P. Seaman. “We share in its mission and look forward to furthering these measures across our internal and external inclusion efforts.”

Senior Counsel at Stradley Ronon and Member of CPR’s National Panel of Distinguished Neutrals Bennett G. Picker added, “By encouraging law firms, corporations and CPR to take this action, we can help push the proverbial needle and create a pipeline of diverse neutrals, including, women, persons of color, members of the LGBTQ community and disabled persons.”

CPR is a global non-profit organization that manages conflict to enable purpose. The Diversity Commitment grew out of CPR's National Task Force on Diversity, which recognizes the imperative of drawing upon all people's knowledge, experience, and talents to prevent and resolve disputes. To facilitate the selection of diverse neutrals, CPR will endeavor to include diverse neutrals on any slate of candidates they are asked to provide to the parties, to provide a slate that is made up of at least 30% diverse candidates, and when given the opportunity to make a default appointment, to appoint at least 30% diverse neutrals.
