PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon announced today that Lara N. Burke and Colin J. O’Brien have joined the firm as associates in the 75-attorney litigation department.
Based in Washington, DC, Burke is a seasoned litigator practicing in securities and enforcement, government investigations and white-collar defense. She represents individuals, broker-dealers, publicly traded companies and other entities in connection with all stages of enforcement before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission, Department of Justice, various Self-Regulatory Organizations, Financial Industry Regulatory Authority, as well as in federal and state courts.
Before joining Stradley Ronon, Burke worked for two well-known law firms in Washington, DC, specializing in securities enforcement matters. Burke graduated from the University of Virginia School of Law, where she served on the Submissions Review Board for the Journal of Law and Politics. Prior to law school, Burke worked as a Staff Assistant for Senator Dianne Feinstein in the U.S. Senate. She holds a B.A., magna cum laude, in Political Science and History from the University of Illinois.
A resident of the firm’s Philadelphia office, O’Brien is an experienced commercial litigator representing clients in both state and federal courts. His practice focuses on complex civil litigation involving corporate and institutional clients in a broad range of matters, including premises liability, products liability, construction defects, commercial disputes, and general liability defense.
Prior to joining Stradley Ronon, O’Brien worked for another Philadelphia law firm handling products liability, construction litigation, premises and other general liability matters. He received his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law, where he served as a Managing Editor of the Temple International and Comparative Law Journal. Before law school, O’Brien worked at Saint Joseph’s Preparatory School as a member of the Alumni Service Corps, teaching Spanish and organizing student service opportunities. He also spent a summer with the Burlington County Prosecutors Office as a Trial Division Intern. O’Brien holds a B.A., cum laude, in Government with a Minor in Spanish from Georgetown University.
