PHILADELPHIA Stradley Ronon is proud to announce that the firm has successfully achieved Mansfield Rule 5.0 Certification status from Diversity Lab, a recognition awarded to more than 180 leading law firms nationwide. This achievement highlights the firm’s continued commitment to diversity and inclusion in the legal field. To obtain this certification, the firm goes through a rigorous 12-month review process that demonstrates the firm’s dedication to diversity, equity and inclusion. “The Mansfield certification evolves every year, based on learnings from prior iterations, to drive even greater progress,” stated Kavita Ramakrishnan, Mansfield Rule and Knowledge Sharing Senior Director.

“Stradley Ronon has made Mansfield Certification a priority because, as a firm, we recognize its importance to not only our clients but also to the members of our community,” said Chief Diversity Officer and Counsel Brian P. Seaman. “We want to do everything we can to ensure Stradley is an inclusive work environment, and Mansfield is an important and innovative part of that effort. There are layers of accountability provided by Mansfield that ensure this is a culture-changing effort.”

The firm has also renewed its participation in the Mansfield 6.0 Rule program, which runs from July 2022 to July 2023. Stradley Ronon’s Diversity Committee and Chief Diversity Officer Brian Seaman are charged with leading the Mansfield Rule 6.0 Certification process.

Named after Arabella Mansfield, the first woman admitted to practice law in the U.S., the NFL’s Rooney Rule inspired the Mansfield Rule. The Rooney Rule was designed to increase and encourage the number of minority coaches interviewed by teams for head coach vacancies. Similarly, the Mansfield Rule promotes women and minorities into leadership positions within law firms or companies. Each year, the Mansfield Rule expands its requirements to ensure the legal field is becoming more and more inclusive as time goes on.
