Stradley Ronon Promotes Four Lawyers to Partner in Philadelphia and Washington

PHILADELPHIA — Stradley Ronon has elevated David Fitzgibbon, Jennifer Gniady, Shawn Hendricks and Michael Schapiro to partner effective January 1. The new partners represent the firm’s intellectual property, investment management, and nonprofit and religious organizations practices. David and Shawn are based in Stradley Ronon’s Philadelphia office, and Jennifer and Michael are based in Washington, D.C.

David concentrates his practice on intellectual property matters with a focus on patent litigation. Specializing in patent monetization, David counsels clients on the nuanced scope and significance of their intellectual property rights. His skills further extend to negotiating technology-related agreements on behalf of clients.


Jennifer, co-chair of the firm’s nonprofit and religious organizations practice, has spent more than 15 years counseling nonprofits on how to respond to threats, solve problems and plan for the future. She routinely advises nonprofits on structural and governance issues, responding to inquiries from charitable regulators, as well as compliance with lobbying and fundraising laws.


Shawn counsels investment companies (including mutual funds, closed-end funds and exchange-traded funds), private funds and investment advisers in connection with various regulatory, compliance and transactional issues, including preparing regulatory filings, researching various securities and corporate law issues, and drafting corporate policies and compliance procedures.


Michael focuses his practice on counseling investment companies (including mutual funds and exchange-traded funds), independent directors, private funds and investment advisers in connection with various regulatory, compliance and transactional matters. He has also counseled broker-dealers and investment advisers regarding regulatory and compliance issues before the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission and Financial Industry Regulatory Authority.
