John Carty focuses his practice on handling intricate civil litigation cases, such as product liability, construction and mass tort claims. He is actively engaged in every aspect of his client’s litigation process, including writing legal documents, taking and defending depositions, presenting oral arguments for motions, and handling matters through trial and/or alternative dispute resolution.
Before joining the firm, John was a litigation associate attorney in the casualty department of a law firm based in Philadelphia. After completing law school, he served as a clerk for the Hon. Judge Nan S. Famular, P.J. Ch., in the New Jersey Superior Court, Camden County Vicinage, Chancery and General Equity Division. His duties during this time included handling cases involving residential and commercial mortgage foreclosures, contract disputes, corporate shareholder conflicts, property disagreements, probate litigation and petitions for equitable relief. Additionally, he has been trained as a Family Law Clerk.
John obtained his J.D. from Temple University Beasley School of Law, during which he was a participant in its Trial Advocacy Program. He was also a recipient of the Beasley Scholarship. In his second year, he was honored with the Louis Portella Memorial Scholarship from the Camden County Bar Association in recognition of his outstanding academic and community achievements.
Prior to law school, John earned his B.A. in Politics from Ursinus College, where he also earned a minor in Spanish. During his time at Ursinus, he was the captain of the football team and served as vice president of the Haines-Bernard Pre-Legal Society.
