PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon is pleased to announce Karl S. Myers was appointed chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Appellate Advocacy Committee and elected chair of the PBA’s Administrative Law Section during the PBA’s annual meeting in May 2020. Myers will serve in these capacities for the 2020-2021 bar year.

The PBA Appellate Advocacy Committee promotes dialogue and cooperation between lawyers who practice before the state and federal appellate courts and members of the judiciary. The committee works to enhance the knowledge and capabilities of lawyers through focused educational programs, foster dialogue between the bench and the bar, explore methods of improvement and advancement for the appellate process, and review and make recommendations concerning the rules of procedure that affect the appellate process.

The Administrative Law Section works to develop substantive and procedural improvements to the administrative laws of the Commonwealth. The council has general supervision and control of the affairs of the section, including supervising the activities of its committees, approving all commitments and contracts and approving the section’s monetary expenditures.

Myers is a leading Pennsylvania appellate lawyer who has argued and briefed dozens of precedent-setting cases before the appellate courts of Pennsylvania and other jurisdictions. He maintains a particular focus on cases before the Pennsylvania Supreme, Commonwealth and Superior Courts, as well as the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit, including appeals involving federal and state constitutional challenges, state administrative agency decisions, insurance insolvency and regulatory matters, Pennsylvania Right-to-Know Law requests, government contracting and bid-protest disputes, complex commercial actions, and many other types of civil cases.
