Stradley Ronon Continues Growth in New York, Adds Experienced Tax Attorney Ken Wang

Firm News
PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon announced today that Ken Wang has joined the firm as a partner in its New York office. Wang was most recently senior tax counsel at Siemens Corporation, a global leader in engineering and technology innovation.

“What attracted us to Ken were his strong tax capabilities, including his deep experience in structuring and negotiating joint ventures, collaborating and managing external advisors, and counseling clients on a wide range of international and domestic transactions,” said Todd Vanett, partner and chair of the firm’s tax group. “In addition, Ken’s corporate experience will be a tremendous asset to our clients involved in mergers and acquisitions, private equity and ESG.”

Stradley Ronon recently bolstered its presence in New York by adding a nine-attorney group from White & Williams LLP (August 2021) as well as a prominent corporate partner in Irwin Latner (January 2022). In the past 12 months, the firm has added 13 attorneys to its New York office.

During his time as an in-house lawyer, Wang was responsible for U.S. tax planning, advising on transaction structures and coordination of post-closing integration while also streamlining the tax diligence process internally. He was also responsible for handling and negotiating successful transactions, including structuring and negotiating an investment by the Qatar Investment Authority in an existing Siemens joint venture partnership and the partnership’s subsequent “up-C” initial public offering, valuing the joint venture at $4.7 billion.

Before that, Wang was an associate at Dechert LLP, where he assisted on a wide range of transactions, including fund formation and deal work for private equity and REIT funds, real estate investments, energy tax credits and business restructurings. He also worked as tax counsel at Chevron Corporation.

“Stradley Ronon has a known reputation in the legal community for leading some of the industry’s most significant transactions, and I’m thrilled to be joining such an established group of practitioners,” said Wang. “I also am looking forward to providing clients with first-class pragmatic legal counsel, ultimately delivering results that help drive their business goals and needs.”

Wang received his J.D. from the University of Chicago Law School and his B.A., cum laude, from Rutgers University. While at law school, he served as a board member of the Asian Pacific American Law Students Association and was a Clinton Family and Douglas G. Baird Scholar.
