PHILADELPHIA – Stradley Ronon presented a three-session series of interactive panels for industry leaders and business owners titled “Mitigation, Optimization & Maximization: Examining Successful Business Transitions” at the firm’s Philadelphia office on Oct. 26, 2023. The event was co-hosted with Kreischer Miller and Banyan Partners of Alex. Brown, a division of Raymond James.

The series began with an overview featuring Partner Deborah Hong, co-chair of the corporate and securities practice. Following introductions, Partner David J. Winkowski, co-chair of the closely held and family owned businesses practice, participated in the first session, which covered the difficult balance between owners’ personal needs and the best interests of a company and its employees.

The second session, including Partner Lori S. Smith, chair of the emerging companies and venture capital funds practice, explored the role of investment bankers and discussed the optimal time to begin their involvement in a closely held or family owned business.

The event concluded with a session focused on how to plan for a successful transition process, with insights from Partner Steven A. Scolari, co-chair of the closely held and family owned businesses practice.
