Michael Amugo

Overview

Michael Amugo is an active member of the firm’s leading investment management group and focuses his practice on representing investment companies and investment advisers. He frequently advises clients on all legal aspects of regulatory, compliance and transactional issues.

Michael received his J.D. from Drexel University Thomas R. Kline School of Law, where he served as a staff editor for the Drexel Law Review. Michael also received his LL.B. from the University of Nigeria, a J.D. equivalent under the Nigerian legal system. He also received a Barrister-At-Law designation from the Nigerian Law School, graduating in the top 1% of his class. During law school, Michael was a member of the summer associate class at Stradley Ronon as well as a legal intern in the Office of the General Counsel for the Vanguard Group.

In The Community

Michael is an active member of the legal community and has volunteered his time to various nonprofits and community organizations. He has worked pro bono at the SeniorLAW Center, helping seniors gain access to legal advice and assistance. He also served as a volunteer for the Campaign for Working Families Tax Clinic, which helps working and indigent families prepare and file their tax returns. Michael also worked for the Military Assistance Project, where he assisted bankrupt veterans filing for bankruptcy.

While in Nigeria, he served as a member of the Legal Aid Group of the National Youth Service Corps Scheme (NYSC) and volunteered for the International Committee of the Red Cross in Abuja, Nigeria.
