Overview

Carrie LeBigre counsels clients in litigation, investigations and compliance across a range of industries, including media, financial services, education and biotech. Her experience includes advising on matters related to employment, intellectual property, corporate governance and general commercial disputes.

She conducts internal investigations for clients in heavily regulated industries and represents clients in complex commercial disputes, including pre-litigation investigation of claims and post-judgment enforcement. Carrie also advises clients on restructuring in Chapter 11, conducting mergers and acquisitions in compliance with applicable laws and regulations, and performing due diligence for acquisition targets, including distressed assets.

Prior to joining Stradley Ronon, Carrie was an associate at a global law firm and at a boutique law firm specializing in business and securities litigation, arbitrations and criminal matters.

  • Represented liquidators of a hedge fund in multi-venue fraud litigation against asset managers and others.
  • Represented a director and audit committee member in defending claims of breach of fiduciary duty relating to the committee’s recommendation of a going-private merger.
  • Represented a judgment creditor in a negligence action against judgment debtors’ lawyers; successfully obtained an anti-suit injunction of an earlier filed declaratory judgment suit brought by debtors’ lawyers.
  • Represented a life sciences startup developing a drug for neglected tropical diseases in investigating and asserting claims for theft of trade secrets against a multinational pharmaceutical conglomerate.
  • Represented a publicly traded pharmaceutical company in data licensing, including successfully seeking a TRO against attempts to foreclose on the client’s property.
  • Represented major financial institutions in fraud litigation in multiple federal courts related to residential mortgage-backed securities (RMBS).
  • Represented a defendant in an appeal of accounting fraud conviction in New York state court.
  • Served on an independent fee committee for one of the largest bankruptcies in U.S. history, tasked with analyzing billing of outside professionals including auditors, accountants and lawyers for compliance with U.S. Trustee guidelines.
  • Represented a private equity company acquiring a pharmaceutical company, analyzing existing foreign vendor agreements for sensitivities including Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) violations and compliance with health care data laws.
  • Served as counsel to a pharmaceutical company investigating potential violations of the FCPA and various health data privacy laws globally by a primary contractor.
  • Served as outside investigative counsel to a global restructuring and consulting firm in an investigation initiated by a European Union state in connection with the Cypriot financial crisis.
